RHOER CLUB HIGHLIGHTS!!

A love for youth and the development of their full potential was the primary motivating factor that inspired Founder Mary Lou Allison Gardner Little to organize Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Young people today face challenges that could never have been imagined years ago, but such challenges provided the sorority with opportunities to carry on the vision of Little.

The Rhoer Club is the youth group affiliate of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Founded in 1939 at the 14th Biennial Boule, the first Rhoer Club was formed in 1940 by Alpha Eta Chapter. This group was organized to encourage high scholastic attainment and the development of leadership skills. Clubs are compromised of young women between the ages of twelve and eighteen.

Rhoers are young girls organized on a local, regional and national level. The Rhoer affiliates are working to help other young people while they learn about their heritage and develop leadership skills. Sigma Gamma Rho is dedicated to helping Rhoers to grow to be women of substance dedicated to service.

Rhoer Clubs are sponsored by graduate chapters of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. on a local level and are recognized nationa
lly as well. These young ladies also assist the Sorority with community service activities and social projects.
